Last days of February.

Morning everyone,

Who would have thought that it would be the end of February already. Its Cold Dry and windy, Just the weather to stay in a craft. I have lots to do in the garden but while this wind is about then I am afraid it will not get done, Not in the mood to run round after the hedge when I have cut, Not sure yet what I am going to do with the window boxes but did notice the other day that the strawberry  have started to sprout again,

I have to get some birthday card in the post tomorrow. Just got to write them, Also have a letter to write.

Sunday Post .

Morning everyone.

It just not seem possible that we are at the end of the month already. Just what is happening to this year. I know people say the time goes faster as you get older but really how much faster can the time go.

 Some time ago I gave My friend Sue one of dressing gowns that was Ron's [ Hubby who passed away last year,] and asked Sue if she could make a cushion out of it for me. Its a dressing gown I brought for myself and it was to big for me so Ron said he would use it. When Sue came down on Friday she Brought two cushions and had also put owls on each one. She said they one is you and one is Ron. I think they are beautiful. THANK YOU Sue.

Well what I day yesterday, I started the day not really knowing what I would do;  In the end I did mange to make two cards, and the first card was not a success so started again and was much more pleased with the second card.

Morning all,

Had a strange day yesterday. I was all set to make a card with a new stamp I have and its just disappeared. The magazine it was on is here BUT not the stamp. I have looked through all my stamps. Then while I was writing this I had a thought and looked in my dies box and there was the stamp. How crazy is that. I then had to get on and make the card I wanted to make. Don't you just hate it when you put something somewhere and cannot find it.

I  brought some Tonic crackle base coat and I could not get the lid off and phoned them up and  they are sending me another  how great it that. 

I was just walking in from the kitchen and spotted this great tit on the wall next door. I was lucky to get it as they move so fast.

Not a normal day to post

Morning all.

Not a normal day to post but there is a challenge I wanted to enter and it ends today, I quite a nice day today, Well that's what I thought till I noticed two of the bulbs have gone in the lounge. Go to the kitchen to was the dishes when I find the bulb out there is on its way out.

It has been very cold here these last few days and will be glad when next Monday comes as I am have two new radiator's fitted. I have tried not to have them as its not very cheap but I hate to be cold  so its a must.

start of another week

Morning all.

It has been a funny week, still the strange weather and then my sister goes away and its really strange not talking to her every day.  I have to say that my sister May and I are twins, Yes there are two of me how could the world put up with this. 

Again today I have gone with a sketch, I think its a good way to start your card.  I have also been playing with some mixed media and having some fun. This time I used an old cheesy container. This is what I came up with. Hope you like it.

Well what funny weather we still are having one day rain and the next sunny. Although I was glad of the sun yesterday as I went to knit and natter. 

A couple of days ago I finished this single blanket and its going to a woman's refuge. I have started  another this time its a baby blanket and made out of granny squares.

Well  it looks as thought spring has been round the corner but if we believe what we are told that is going to end soon,  They are saying again we might have snow but have heard this so many times before so it a case of wait and see. Well its not snow but yet more rain..

Another week starts

Morning all,

                      Well this weather sure wants to make its mind up. it is never the same from one day to the next, I suppose we can not expect anything else really as soon [ I hope ] the spring will be here. There are so many spring flowers out now and lots of shrubs are trying to come out. Then we have a cold spell and they are knocked back,

I have for a long time been looking at the plastic matting that I place under my chopping board to so it does not slip while cutting on the board, I wondered what it would look like if  I used it as a background. Well at last I finally got round to trying in on the card, I have enclosed a picture of the mat. I  put some decadent grape textured paste over the top  with an old credit card and waited over night and I loved how it looked, So it just goes to show that all different things can work. 

This is what i used for the background I covered it with  decadent grape Textured paste

Weekend again

Morning all

I have been playing again with different things to make a back ground with ans have come up with what I think looks unusual but you will have to wait till Mondays post to see what it is i have used and how it looks. I know I was delighted with the result.

Well what a change this weather has been, it was really nice out today. Really fresh and crisp.Its such a pleasure to see the sun as well.

Morning all.

What a difference yesterday was. The weather was good and we had blue skies and lots of sun.  I also had my  pal come round and  and we went out and shopping, We had a snack out and then walked about the  garden center and just looked at all the lovely flowers. I really love owls and there were so many there BUT did not buy one, I did get however two more toy dogs. I now have three sat on the back of my sofa.

Well the weather was really  horrid on  Saturday although a bit better Sunday. We still had plenty of rain though but a bit of sun now and then till later afternoon, I just hope the weather gets a bit better on Tuesday as I have a mate coming and we would like to go out sometime.

I don't know why but just lately I love to make cards from a sketch. There is something about a sketch that makes me want to make card from them.  There are always plenty to choose from.

Well it really is dark this morning. I just hope it gets better, I had a friend come round tonight ad she looked at my stash and said I was a hoarder and as us crafter's know we all are hoarders.

Having some coal delivered today so I will be nice and warm if this weather continues to be cold,

Playing with stencils,

Morning all,

 I do not normally post on a Thursday but I have been playing with stencils and really like how they turned out so will share them with you today I hope you like them and maybe [ if you have not already ] you would like to try this, 

Number one 

Materials used, 

•  Broken China & Wilted violet distress ink.  
• Creative Expressions stencils

The first thing i did was use the mask and with broken china went over all the stencil, Next I  moved the stencil so you could just see the corner of where you have inked and inked it again with  wilted violet, I love the way this looks ,

Number 2

Materials used. 

•  Stampers anonymous star stencil,
• Mustard seed  &  twisted citron Distress ink.

I used Mustard seed first moved the stencil and then used the twisted citron.

Number 3

Materials used, 

• Memory Box stencil
• Broken china & wilted violet distress ink

Again just moved the stencil once  I had coloured with the first colour, 

Number 4 & 5 

Materials used. 

• The art of Brett Weldele scrabble Stencil 
• Cracked Pistachio & Vintage photo 

I did something really different with this stencil. I used the stencil in the and just used the two colours and thought what would happen if I turned the stencil over and i quite like it, BUT remember  [not that I remembered  lol ] to clean the stencil before you  put in down on the paper,
